All you need so as to Pack Up for Your Bike Trip
Prepare your Bike First:
Before you start out with a bike trip, make sure that your bike is fully functional and all approved by a Bike doctor:
- Clutch Plates
- Engine Oil and Filters
- Tyres and wheel alignment
- Handle alignment
- Electrical Things & Battery
- Clutch & Accelerator Wires
- Carburettor Tuning
- Air Filter & Spark Plug
- Brake oil and Brake pads
- Head light, tail light, brake light and indicators
- Tyre conditions (New tyres are a safe option)
Now let’s focus on some Accessories:
All the routes you are going to take bikers, often come along with a lot of surprises. So let’s get you accessorized:
- Helmet (an absolute necessity)
- A backrest is a must if you have a pillion rider with you
- Spare Tube in case of Punctures
- Petrol Cans -2/3 (5 litres each) because there are routes with no petrol pump for a long stretch
- Engine oil: Make sure you carry enough quantity from Manali itself as it is no available en-route Ladakh
- Clutch cable
- Brake Cable
- Puncture kit including manual air pump and pressure gauge
- Head light Lamp
- Tool Kit with extra Spark plugs
Necessary Documents:
During the bike trip, keep the following documents along with you:
- valid driving license
- registration documents of the bike
- insurance papers of the bike
- Identity proof document
- Also, have a set of photocopy of all these important documents
- It is recommended to keep maps of all the places and routes you are about to visit
Electronic Items and Gadgets
Spare Batteries for your cellphones and cameras is a must. You can also carry a mobile mount along. It’s advisable to carry a torch too.
It’s recommended to have spare memory cards and pen drives.
And for clicking stunning Landscapes, carry your camera and Photography kit too.
A Must Have – a Medical Kit
A medical kit with tablets for headache, cold, fever, muscle and joint pains etc. I will recommend carrying glucose packets as well.

- Bionic Knee guards

- Claw Bag
- Tank Bag
- Extra thermal liners as you will experience bone-chilling cold in some places
- Rain covers for all bags and rain clothes.
- Toiletries like Soaps, sunscreen, toothpaste and brush
- Extra pair of shoes
