In no particular order we have listed some of the best motorcycles movies that will not only help you stay at home in the current lockdown but also inspire you to ride post the lockdown.

The Motorcycle Diaries
This movie is a dramatic representation of the life of a 23-year old boy named Ernesto Guevara whose journey gave a purpose to his life and he brought revolutions all around the world. This young boy several years later came to be known as the world famous iconic Marxist guerrilla leader and revolutionary Che Guevara.

 

The World’s Fastest Indian
The World’s Fastest Indian is a 2005 New Zealand biographical sports drama film based on the Invercargill, New Zealand, speed bike racer Burt Munro and his highly modified 1920 Indian Scout motorcycle. Munro set numerous land speed records for motorcycles with engines less than 1,000 cc at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah in the late 1950s and into the 1960s. The film stars Anthony Hopkins, and was produced, written and directed by Roger Donaldson.

 

On Any Sunday
An American documentary film directed by Bruce Brown in the 1971 about motorcycle sport, was nominated for a 1972 Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. Brown tried to show the unique talents needed for the different forms of racing. He has also showed widely differing personalities, such as the business-like approach to racing displayed by Mert Lawwill versus the carefree approach that David Aldana became known for.

A 1969 American independent road drama film which has two riders who go around smuggling cocaine from Mexico to USA. These two are freestyle riders who have an adventurous trip while transferring drugs. This story was written by Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, and Terry Southern and produced by Fonda and directed by Hooper. The two riders are Fonda and Hopper, who travel through the American Southwest and South. The success of Easy Rider helped spark the New Hollywood era of filmmaking during the early 1970s.

 

Hitting the Apex
A documentary movie about six legendary racers – six of the fastest motorcycle racers the world has ever seen. The racers will blow your mind with the amount of incredible passion they have for racing. It shows fate of all of them that awaited them at the peak of the sport.

 

TT3D: Closer to the Edge
A British documentary film that covers the most vulnerable race of about 37.73 miles passing from the public roads, popularly known as Isle of Man TT that takes place in Isle of Man every year. This film is directed by the first time director Richard de Aragues. The narration of this film is done by Jared Leto.

 

Dust to Glory
A documentary movie on the world’s most dangerous race, the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 which happens in Mexico. Every year, this event draws thousands of fans and enthusiasts who are determined to experience the harsh course. This 24-hour race includes deserts, swaths of cactus and the metallic carcasses of vehicles left for dead. This documentary is written and directed by Dana Brown.

 

Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man
This is a movie based on two friends saving another friend’s bar for which the dues were not paid. It is a 1991 action biker film starring Mickey Rourke and Don Johnson whose characters are named after Harley Davidson (motorcycle manufacturer) and Marlboro Man (Cigarettes manufacturer).

Why We Ride is a story about the biker family who live their lives to the fullest when they are on two wheels. It depicts all the individuals with a desire to dream, discover and explore. It a total adventure in the world of motorcycling.

 

Unchained: The Untold Story of Freestyle MotoCross
The definitive, adrenaline-soaked story of the birth and boom of the most extreme sport on the planet: Freestyle Motocross. The motorcyclists do tricks trying to impress the judges with their jumps and stunts in the air.
The movie is written and directed by the director Paul Taublieb. It is co-directed by Jon Freeman.

 

Wild Hogs
It is a 2007 American biker road comedy film with four middle-aged friends decide to rev up their routine lives with a freewheeling road trip. This hilarious movie is directed by Walt Becker and starring Tim Allen, John Travolta, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy.
