Why should Riding in Oman be on your Checklist ??
The Streets have their own aura, which can only be felt when you are riding in Oman! The only desire the “young heart” has is to explore a magical land on his or her Bike. Sticking to the roads and the plans takes away the leverage of exploring a whole new world. So, we need to hit the hard gear and feel the dust of rough lane and take a step to fulfil our desires.
Let us ride today to the beautiful place Oman.
Oh! you must be thinking, is it possible to explore Oman on bikes? Yes, it is.
To start with Muscat, you would find heavy traffic with hefty four-wheelers with their owners sitting inside the heavily tinted glass, soaking air-conditioned air. The dramatic scenery, near-constant sunshine and new roads are helping to put the south-east of the Arabian Peninsula on the map for a two-wheeled adventure. Motorbiking in Oman requires lightweight gear to cope with high temperatures around 45 degrees. Drop down at Souk one of the most bustling spots, then you could drive twenty minutes down the lane to sandstone Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque-one of the most palpable achievements of “Sultan Qaboos”, it can accommodate 20,000 worshipers in its main prayer hall.
Let us get to a biker’s interest, there is a more natural Oman, mountainous interiors and the surrounding deserts awaiting to be explored. Bikers could set out for Jebel Shams – the highest peak in the Al Hajar Range. The way to this peak is thrilling, the air smells of heat and dust. You would love to spend our time here with your Bike but the road never ends at this impressive destination. Wadi Ghulwhich is next to Jebel Shams is known as the Grand Canyon of Arabia. Well, again the roads urge bikers to this place, sharp twists and turns through the valley which is 1000ft drop. Once you reach this angelic place grab a mint tea sit under the gazebo and stare deep into this eye candy Canyon.
Well, the trip does not end here, excitement is about to begin! Now, you get a chance to rage your bike through a vast expanse of rock to reach another appealing and an adorable place Nizwa – a 16th-century fort on a plain surrounded by date palms and centuries-old, babbling irrigation channels. Nizwa has a startling history that makes it more adorable. While you travel through the laid-back roads of Nizwa you will find adored murals of Sultan Qaboos making it the cultural centre of Oman. Let’s not date back to history. Well you do have dazzling beaches like Muscat Muttrah, Captivating Cliffs like Bimmah Cliff & Bimmah Sinkholes where the dazzling water urges you to dive in, did I forget to mention Wadi Shab? My bad!
Now I need to take a turn to the deserts of Oman. The Wahiba Sands spread across 12,500 square meters, has its own exquisite. Though you would require different bike and gear in all it would be a worthy treat to your desire to explore this lovely place. Well, Camel safari also has its own fun of exploring this place!
The list is non-ending & I’ll get back to you with some more exciting places in my coming blog with http://bikesterglobal.com a platform that rents bike and has motorbike tours worldwide.
Till then keep Biking!
